Mike and I are wrapping up some last-minute items to get our profile book together. This is the book that potential birth moms will look at to decide if they would like us to raise their child. It’s a daunting task to try to put your life in a book! We’re hoping to show moms who we are and why we would be great parents. We’ve collected pictures and spent many hours writing the words that we hope will catch the eye of our future child’s birth mom. Even though it has been quite stressful for us, I can’t imagine what it’s like to be on the other side of that profile book. How would I choose the “right” family for my child? How would I know that they would live up to my expectations? During this process I have to remember that it’s more than just me and Mike. Sometimes I get caught up in the things we have left to do, things we have left to buy, and how long the adoption process may take. I forget the other family who is just as stressed as we are. I forget that someone else is making a difficult decision. Remembering that it’s not “all about me” is helping to keep me centered.
You guys are so awesome… I love that Mike is in his mid thirties and has the same necklace on that he wore in high school!! Miss you guys so much. Jamie and I are praying for you guys as you are going to be such wonderful loving parents! We are headed back to the east coast from mid June to mid July if you are going to be around… I need to see my buddy again!

When you can feel the pain of another, then God is in the situation. Jesus gave us the commandment to love our brother. I believe all that you and Mike have endured has made your heart ripe for one of the most precious gifts to mankind, a child to love, cherish, and rear in the admonition of the Lord. Standing in the throne of Grace and praying to God for an answer is an awesome experience. We are so humble and grateful to our Lord that we have a niece and her husband that desire to be faithful to the calling of becoming parents very soon.
